Road Maintenance Markers

Dataset Number1127
Dataset TitleRoad Maintenance Markers
CustodianData Authority: Department for Infrastructure and Transport
Data Provider: Department for Infrastructure and Transport

Description

DescriptionDPTI Road Maintenance Marker locations are physical markers along the road corridor to allow field personal to locate features along a road. Physical features are a star dropper with a number plate which can be referenced to the road running distance along a road from the start for that road.
UsageFor use with CRRS Road Network.

Data Quality

LineageDerived dataset created using CRRS linear referencing standards. Maintenance Markers collected with GPS devises have been referenced back to the road using CRRS standards
Completeness90%
Positional AccuracyAccuracy of road alignments varies throughout the coverage depending on method of capture. In general, roads captured through DCDB processes in urban areas are generally within +/- 5 metres of their true position. In rural areas the accuracy is generally within +/- 25 metres. In pastoral regions sourced fro Geoscience Australia the accuracy is in the order od +/- 125 metres. A program for Condition data collection surveys include GPS alignments are used to improve road alignments.

RCS.Maint_MarkersSEG_NO DoubleThe number of the segment which is the number displayed on the start dropper located in the field. The segment describes the length of road from the START_RRD to the END_RRD.
RCS.Maint_MarkersSEG_TYPE textDescribes the location of the segment M - MidBlock Segment Urban area. O - Outback Segment P - Primary Intersection Segment Urban area R - Rural Segment S - Secondary Intersection Segment Urban area
RCS.Maint_MarkersROAD_CATEGORY_CO textRoad Category as defined by DPTI
RCS.Maint_MarkersREG_ID textDPTI administrative boundaries, linked to the State Government Regions
RCS.Maint_MarkersSTART_RRD DoubleDriven length (road running distance) in kilometres from the start of the road to the start location of the segment. NB All roads have a designated start, end and direction in CRRS
RCS.Maint_MarkersEND_RRD DoubleDriven length (road running distance) in kilometres from the start of the road to the end location of the segment. NB All roads have a designated start, end and direction in CRRS
